in Winter, a great place for plants - see the

Designed
in 1993 for La Madera, N.M., this flat-roof adobe
features a covered formal entrance and an enclosed
courtyard.
Modernizing
an older adobe home in Cuba, New Mexico.
The additions (outlined in red) include a new master
bedroom with attached bath and walk-in closet.
The dining area and step-down living room were also added
as well as the hall to gain access to the bedrooms.
New
roof design in Chamita, N.M. for Habitat For
Humanity. I am a founding member of this chapter.

This adobe
cabin in Lyden, N.M. was designed as a guest house. It
has a lofted sleeping area reached by a spiral staircase
and a covered portal for relaxing under on hot
afternoons.

This
Adobe home was designed for Silver City N.M..
In excess of 4,000 square feet, it features a solar
green house, a private guest wing and a central
courtyard.
This
Strawbale artist compound was designed for
Madrid, N.M.. In excess of 6,000 sq. ft., it includes
seven residences. There are communal living areas and
studio work spaces inside and out. North facing
clerestory windows allow indirect light for painting.
This ~4,000
sq. ft. Strawbale home was recently
completed near Abiquiu, N.M.. A beautiful and
spacious home, it features a 12 ft. high aviary for the
owners exotic birds !
 
One

Solar 1
New Mexico Passive Solar Design Contest winner (most
solar efficient entry). This Passive Solar Adobe design
features a clerestory roof and sleeping loft.

Note that the overhangs block the Summer sun
while allowing it in during colder Winter months.

Casita and tripple-car garage combination.
This would make a great starter home if you plan to

use the garage as a shop. Later the casita can be used
